Arrow of Light

This week Andrew received his Arrow of Light award in cub scouting. In another week he'll move on to boy scouts! I'm wondering where the last three years have gone because it seems like he just started cub scouts! I remember how cute and excited he was when he was just turning 8. I thought the boy scouts were so big. He has loved cub scouts but is excited to join the 11 year old scouts, especially since they get to go on overnight camping trips. He's done a great job and I hope he keeps working this hard in scouting!
Kaitlyn started a dance class a few weeks ago. She loves dressing up in her dance clothes!

Layton Classic

Saturday Jason and Andrew ran the Layton Classic. Jason ran the 10K in 37:08 and Andrew ran the 5K in 25:47. Andrew won his age group and Jason was 4th overall and 2nd in his age group!

As soon as the race was over I took the kids back to Ogden for their soccer games. Andrew played the entire game as forward only an hour after finishing his 5K and even scored a goal! I knew all that energy he had would come in handy some day! Kaitlyn had so much fun playing her first soccer game. Now we just have to convince her that she can't pick up the ball with her hands if it is going the wrong direction!

My Week in Ohio

Last week I went to visit my sister in Ohio. She had triplets in July. I loved meeting my three new nieces and had a great time playing with her other two kids. I was expecting things to be pretty crazy at their house but I was amazed at how well my sister and her husband were managing three babies! They had them on a good schedule and all three were really sweet babies. As you can imagine though, there wasn't much time during the night when all three were sleeping. I was exhausted by the time I came home and that was nothing compared to the fatigue my sister and her husband were feeling. I hope for their sake the babies sleep through the night soon! While I was having a great time with my sister's family Jason had his first experience on his own with the kids for several days. He took the kids out for ice cream for lunch and let them go fishing on a school night. Everyone survived the week though and when I asked if he would let me do it again sometime he even said yes! I missed Kaitlyn's first day of preschool while I was gone so here's a second day picture. She looks way too grown up!
