Dachau and the Romantic Road

When we left Rothenburg we were going to head down the Romantic Road but Jason decided he wanted to take a detour to the Dachau concentration camp.  I wasn't thrilled about the idea.  With the funeral the week before I wanted this to be a happy trip but Jason felt like this was something he really wanted to educate Andrew about.  It was drizzly and chilly when we got there which didn't help the mood at all.  It was overwhelming to think about the history that took place there.  It is really unthinkable that people could be treated the way the Jews and other prisoners were treated there.  Honestly even just looking at the few pictures we took there is enough to give me the creeps so I won't share all of them.  After viewing the documentary and touring the grounds for an hour we had had enough and were ready to move on to something more cheerful.
We made a quick stop in the town of Lindau on the Romantic Road on the way to our hotel that evening.  We were disappointed to find the main town square under construction but still found some fun sights.  Here's some of what we saw of this cute town.

Really not sure why he wanted ice cream.  You can tell he's freezing!
