Christmas 2015

Christmas was a bit different this year.  For the first time in several years we didn't spend the majority of the break on the ski slopes.  Andrew had surgery a couple days before the break and wasn't able to ski and I decided to stay off the slopes other than the bunny hill with Skyler to avoid injury before the Olympic Trials. It was also the peak of my training season.  I had to make sure to get all of my training in and attempted to avoid eating too much Christmas candy.  We had a great Christmas Day though.  We enjoyed having my parents close for the first time.  We celebrated at our house on Christmas Eve with clam chowder, acting out the nativity, and everyone breaking out their instruments for some Christmas carols.  They were able to come watch the kids open presents Christmas morning and we went to their house for dinner.

We enjoyed having my brother Spencer come visit for a few days with his girlfriend, Janelle, and her son Calvin.  The kids had fun introducing Calvin to snow by sledding.  We also finally made it to see the new Star Wars movie.  The Star Wars fans in our house loved it!

A highlight of the month was attending the sealing of Nancy and Darrell (Jason's mom and step-dad) in the Timpanogas Temple.  It was such a happy day!  We are so excited for them and proud of all they have done to make this happen!  Afterwards we enjoyed a great family party at Brian's house with crazy white elephant gifts, lots of good food and fun.

It was a fun month of family get together's with Eric's oldest step-daughter, Shaelie, getting married in Manti as well.

December was also Andrew's first school dance!  He had a great time with his friend Teal Christensen.
We also enjoyed a concert my mom performed in with Millennial Choirs and Orchestras at Abravanel Hall in Salt Lake.  The concert was wonderful once we got there.  Unfortunately it was on a day that we got dumped on with over a foot of snow.  Traffic was a nightmare getting there and we arrived late but it was worth the drive for the part of the concert we were able to listen to!
